Introduction

Each year, thousands of people living in the United States find themselves involved in car accidents. While many of these people are lucky enough to walk away from the scene of an accident with just cuts and bruises, others wake up in a hospital room with a pile of insurance claims and perhaps a few legal battles waiting for them.

In many of these situations the "unlucky" ones find themselves in, the cause of the accident is unknown. Many drivers may ask themselves, "WasI going too fast at the time of impact? Or was my injury the result of a defect in my car?"

To answer these questions, insurance companies or the drivers themselves may call upon the expertise of accident reconstructionists. Reconstructionists are forensic experts that use data gathered from the scene of the crash to figure out what happened.

And because reconstructionists often find themselves with someone's life in their hands, it's very important that they are qualified

The purpose of this site is to explore reconstruction and how it is performed, as well as recognize the presently vague qualifications one must have in order to work as a reconstructionist.
